Nestled on the picturesque coastline of Mellieha, the Villa project stands as a testament to architectural ingenuity and structural excellence. The construction of the villa was met with unique challenges due to the presence of clay in the area. To ensure the safety and stability of the structure and neighboring residences, large retaining piles were strategically placed around the perimeter. These retaining piles served as a protective barrier, safeguarding the adjacent properties from any potential risk of collapse. To further enhance the structural stability, the villa was built on a piled raft foundation. This innovative approach distributed the building’s weight evenly, minimizing the impact on the surrounding ground and ensuring long-term durability. Throughout the project, Finite Element (FE) technology was employed extensively. This sophisticated simulation technology allowed our team to analyze complex structural interactions and optimize the villa’s performance under various conditions. The architectural and planning processes posed additional challenges, given the unique location and specific requirements of the project. Our team had to navigate stringent regulations and harmonize the design with the natural beauty of the area.
